hallway artist...

this weekend i painted the lower half of our hallway wall with some chalkboard paint... this is junie's art space/bowling alley/family hall!! i love the way it turned out i'm excited to see all of her creations. i also went and got some wall storage from ikea to put the chalk and erasers in, i had been wanting these trones thingies for awhile and i am sooooo happy with how they turned out. i have the one in the hall and then i put one near our back entry for shoes and one in junie's room for shoes. so far she has loved putting away her shoes and mine too.

i went on a craigslist rampage the last couple of weeks, this was my last find a "dollhouse bookcase"... i wasn't happy with the quality of the bookcase but the fact that it was shaped like a house won me over. i painted it all white and added some fun paper to the backing. i am really happy with how it turned out, now junie's room is officially a toddler room!!!

baskets...

i love making stuff to store stuff in, baskets made from some thrifted yarn my mom gave me. wooden fruit i thrifted a couple weeks ago for junie's play kitchen. with the help of a good friend i'm trying to "montessori" my house, i get so excited thinking up all of the opportunities of making stuff for her to play and learn.

i made a new system for organizing all my favorite recipes.

with sol's ever increasing stash of records we have been trying to think of cool ideas to display/store them... i thought this idea perfect, super simple...
