the state of things...

this is our kitchen... yay!!! its finally happening, we've lived in this house for seven years and i've always hated the kitchen. we haven't been able to do much except the demo and we still have a little ways to go. this past week has been one of busiest and happiest in my life. i cannot tell you how excited i am for this new space.

junie got the baby ikea kitchen for her first birthday... i am in love with it and she is too. i've had fun looking for her dishware at thrift stores!! i really like her color scheme already...

today i took down a ceiling fan and a flourescent light fixture and installed some better looking (cheap) alternatives. makes such a huge difference i don't know why it took me so long... we still have to do some ceiling patch up...

a quick sketch i did...i originally thought about doing the lower cabinets in a dark charcoal, but decided to keep it clean and scandi with white.

kitchen project is moving slowly... i accidently pulled up the tacky peel'n stick vinyl and that created a huge mess. these the shelves we will be putting up hopefully on my next day off...

all from ikea, of course.

we started to demo some of our kitchen. so far we have only taken down one side of the upper cabinets, but it's a start. i am determined to re-do our kitchen and dining room for under $3000.
