a monthly challenge...

so i like to create challenges for myself, i need something to keep the creative juices flowing!!!
i've been so inspired by some lovely ladies doing some amazing patchwork and i want to practice my patience at quilting. my grandma was the best quilter and i aspire to be as good as her, so i thought i'd practice with mini quilts!!!
i would like to keep the size under 12" square and each month will be designed off of one word completely open in interpretation, those are my only rules.
jan. black & white
feb. red
mar. bows
april rain
may floral
june circle
july yellow
aug. houses
sept. line
oct. blue
nov. triangles
dec. trees
with these mini-quilts you can make:
coasters
mug rugs
pot holders
wall hangings
doll beds pillow
save up for a large quilt

i have been going through some of grandma's old quilt starts and quilt fabric. getting inspired but also still too scared to cut into any of it. so many quilts, so little time!! ha. i have more on my pinterest board.
